Revamp on Old Hardware, Week 1

What to do with a 10 year+ computer?

I have recently been focused on a developer environment that can combine an equal part imaginative philosophy and purpose functionality with minimal output. A phrase of simple is better than complex comes to proceed in *NIX grouping of words, and programs written in Linux flavours. However, this post could introduce a grand visionary change.

In light hearted ways, the reason is more personal. Having received a discarded Mapple computer a week back, the realization to essentially go back in time and revamp a previous workstation back to a modicum of functionality was certainly a great idea at the time.

This post is an effort to showcase a minimum despite the premium applied to new electronic products; as new can be offset through reuse with specific goals and tasks. My association with the approach is such: If the output of programs & utilities across a time span of 10 years+ results in any measurable impact it is clear.
